Who is Marie - France Avenel ?
Self - taught painter, Marie - France Avenel was born in 1947. From 1968 to 1986 painted while assisting her husband in his workshop of stained - glass windows.
From 1986, a collaboration with the Paris gallery Ror Volmar leads her to devoting herself solely to painting and to taking part for many years to the exhibition " A la recherche de demain, l'école de Paris " in Japan.
Her works are owned by collectors in France, Switzerland, Spain, The Netherlands, Japan, .... In an illustrated book called " Drôles de Dinos " published in Paris by Artcom' 2001, she brings together her job and her passion for paleonthology.
Among modern primitive artists, this French painter is one of the very few who are inspired by world - wide mythological stories or by History. Hence the creative imagination and elaborate composition of her paintings, achieved with amazing attention to the smallest details, bathed in all - prevailing soft hues.
This is why her technique and her personal themes allow Marie - France Avenel to clearly stand out among all the other primitive painters. And why we can enjoy the strong personality of her paintings, stamped by her vivid imagination.
